What are the issues to pay attention to when cleaning solar panels?

Jul 02, 2024

Solar panels need to be cleaned regularly, but photovoltaic panels have their own characteristics, and special attention should be paid to the following points during cleaning:

1. Cleaners should choose to clean solar panels in the morning or evening. Due to the high temperature and strong light at noon, it may cause electric shock injuries to cleaning personnel and damage components.

2. Before cleaning, it is necessary to check the monitoring records for any abnormal power output. If there are any abnormalities, they cannot be cleaned immediately. The cause should be identified, and a test pen should be used to test the aluminum frame, bracket, and glass surface to ensure that there is no risk of leakage before starting cleaning.

3. It is not allowed to step on components such as solar panels, brackets, cable trays, etc.

4. It is prohibited to clean solar panels in adverse weather conditions such as strong winds, heavy rain, and blizzards. It is not advisable to rinse with cold water in winter to prevent the battery panel from freezing, and do not rinse with cold water in hot weather.

5. The solar aluminum frame and bracket have some sharp corners, and cleaning personnel should wear cleaning work clothes and hats to avoid scratches. Hooks and straps are not allowed to be worn on work clothes to prevent entanglement.

6. If it is a rooftop photovoltaic power station, the staff are prohibited from standing within one meter of the roof edge during cleaning, and are not allowed to throw tools and debris off the roof. They should be taken away uniformly after cleaning.

7. Sharp, hard tools, alkaline and other corrosive cleaning agents are prohibited during cleaning. It is prohibited to spray water onto equipment such as junction boxes, cable trays, and junction boxes. The water pressure should be controlled within 0.4 MPa to prevent damage to the components.
